David Pettet

Global Human Rights & Sustainable Supply Chain Director, Reckitt

David Pettet is part of Reckitt’s Global Sustainability Leadership team and leads Reckitt’s Human Rights & Sustainable Supply chain team. At Reckitt, our purpose is to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world as we fight to make access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness and nourishment a right, not a privilege, for everyone. To support the business in achieving its purpose; he is responsible for a team of eleven, strategically located in key geographies around the world, whose responsibilities include partnering with suppliers to collaboratively increase awareness of and respect for human rights and the environment; working cross-functionally to embed the UNGPs into the organisation and ways of working; and developing a societal impact framework to tangibly measure the impact Reckitt has on society through its supply chain, operations and brands. David has a BSc in Environmental Economics from the University of York and MSc in Sustainability for the University of Leeds. He is also on the AIM-Progress leadership team.

I am experienced with ethical trade and sustainability issues within complex global supply chains and fast moving consumer environments, which enables me to provide pragmatic and sustainable solutions. I have experience of managing emotive and endemic issues, for some of the world’s most successful and diverse businesses. I am passionate about human rights and empowering workers and improving working conditions.

Mike Ford

Global Lead EHS and Sustainability, Avetta

Mike Ford is the Global Lead for Sustainability and EHS for Avetta, a provider of supply chain risk and due diligence programmes. Responsible for assisting global business to integrate supplier evaluation and safety/sustainability-based risk programmes to address compliance and ethical sourcing solutions in developed and emerging economies. He has extensive experience in the ethical sourcing and safety arena having developed programmes for many of the world’s largest brands.

Mike has a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain management, he is a Chartered Safety Practitioner, a Fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
