Dr Sam De Silva is a Partner in the IT and Outsourcing team. Sam specialises in strategic and complex IT and telecommunication projects including all forms of cloud computing (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS), outsourcing (IT, BPO and off-shoring), system development and supply, system integration, software licensing, support and service agreements, acting for both users and suppliers. Sam also regularly advises on data protection, privacy, cyber-security and PCI DSS issues.

Sam is deeply immersed in the technology sector and at the forefront of related policy issues, representing the UK on a number of international committees. This market intelligence supports clients in their strategic planning and future proofing of projects. Sam is also heavily involved with procurement best practice, having just completed a 4 year term on the Global Board of Trustees at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

Sam has written and spoken extensively on IT and outsourcing and is regularly called upon by the industry as a thought leader in these areas. He has been interviewed in the press, on the radio, and webinars and on television (including BBC Click and Channel 4 Dispatches). Sam is one of very few solicitors to be a Fellow of CIPS (FCIPS), Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and a Chartered IT Professional (CITP). Sam has post-graduate degrees in information technology and business administration, so he is well aware of the commercial, business and technical issues facing both users and suppliers of technology. Sam has had in-house industry legal experience, having been seconded to Accenture UK for 9 months as a Senior Legal Counsel.

Sam has been named in Who’s Who Legal: Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) 2017 as one of the world’s leading TMT lawyers. As well as being an English qualified solicitor, Sam is also a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia, and has been involved in some of the most cutting-edge IT and outsourcing projects in those jurisdictions.

Prior to his current role, Alexandru was driving the adoption of mHealth technology & solutions in clinical trials to provide an opportunity for patients real-world data evidence in the personalized medicine space.

I do this by working with senior business leaders as an advisor, mentor and Non-Executive Director, by connecting networks and linking expertise of organisations and individuals, through my thought leadership that utilises “evidence based” knowledge that is communicated in an engaging and inspiring way through multiple channels in order to stimulate and create Action.

Prof Richard Wilding OBE, BSc (Tech), PhD, CEng, Eur Ing, FIET, FCILT, FCIPS, PFHEA, NTF

As Chair (Full Professor) in Supply Chain Strategy at the Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Cranfield School of Management U.K. , Past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport UK & Director / Non Executive Director at organisations including Leidos Supply Ltd. He is described by the BBC as “one of the worlds leading experts in logistics & supply chain management”.
Richard works with European and International companies on logistics and supply chain projects in all sectors including pharmaceutical, retail, automotive, high technology, food drink, professional services. He is a highly acclaimed presenter and regularly speaks at Industrial Conferences & international lecture tours. He has published widely and is Editorial Advisor to a number of top journals. His passion is taking knowledge and creating ACTION.

Richard’s special areas of interest include the creation of collaborative business environments, reducing supply chain risk, time compression & techniques for aligning supply chains to maximise customer value and reduce cost.

His significant contribution to Logistics & Supply Chain Management has been recognised in being appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2013 New Year Honours for his service to business. He has received and won multiple industry awards and is listed on many “influencer” lists. In 2019 he was winner of a “National Teaching Fellowship” the most prestigious individual award in Higher Education.

Liam is a thought leader, Researcher & Implementer of collaborative logistics and supply chain solutions that embrace a systems and social value view, supported with knowledge from a Senior Management career spanning over 30 years.

Research expertise has been validated through numerous European Commission projects such as seventh framework project (FP7-SME-2011) delivering subject matter expertise in UK and European rail/road intermodal markets, Horizon 2020 programs TinnGo (Women in transport), MG4.1 [AEOLIX] (Global logistics connectivity & ICT), MG4.4 [SPICE] (Public sector transportation policy) and IND CE 2017 [PolyCE] (Resource efficient circular economy supply chains) alongside UK Government research with the Department for Transport on Smart city transportation and the Government Office of Science delivering intelligence around freight and transportation futures (GO Science). More recently working with food businesses and UKRI on the future of digital food supply chain research.

Also engaged as expert adviser to SeaFish (DEFRA) in the area of food supply chain, All Party Sustainable Resource Group in the areas of Supply chain and Food security (APSRG), All-Party Parliamentary Freight transport group (APFT) and Connected Places catapult for transportation research expertise. A Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, appointed to the advisory boards of the Local Government Authority logistics strategy group, Non-Exec Director for SOCIETAL Value CIC, and twice awarded Global social media Influencer in the field of Supply Chain Management.
