Melanie Salter

Melanie Salter

Supply Chain Strategy & Network Design Specialist, Salter Supply Chain Consulting

I help companies design resilient and sustainable supply chain networks.

I have been working in supply chain management for twenty years and am a specialist in strategy and supply chain network design and optimization. I have designed supply chain networks in Europe, North America and Africa.

Supply chain network design is a powerful and important strategic tool however, only one in five companies perform this type of analysis and I am working to change this. I believe that every company can benefit from actively designing their supply chain.

I am fascinated by methodologies to help companies define their business/competitive strategy as this crucial link between corporate strategy and the supply chain strategy is often unclear or undefined. My research includes supply chain archetypes and the supply chain attributes that should be defined in the business/competitive strategy.
